Being new to online dating, and especially so to extra-marital dating, I was very nervous when starting out and tried 2 or 3 sites before I came across Forbidden Fruit Dating (FFD). With the other sites I felt that I was merely an open wallet, there to be regularly fleeced with expensive basic membership and constant encouragement to purchase extras such as virtual gifts. The number of ‘fake’ or scam profiles annoyed me too. On the point of giving up altogether I found FFD and decided to have one last attempt. What a refreshing change! Firstly, membership is excellent value for money compared to every other site I have come across. Secondly there are no extras to pay, just your membership. I was contacted by an obvious fake/scam profile so I thought I would report it. Amazingly the profile had already been deleted in less than 2 hours of being set up. This site actively polices what happens so that all members are safe.

Uniquely this site has a forum - a place for the serious and the fun. It is divided into 2, a public area and a member’s only area “Behind The Curtain”. Before a member can see “Behind The Curtain” they have to make 30 posts. This ensures only genuine people have access to the more private area. Here you can also find details of the various social functions, although for security reasons only confirmed attendees are given the exact time and place of a social shortly before the event. And what an event it is! Despite being nervous I attended my first social in August 2012. I was met at the station by the site owner and another member. I was assisted to my hotel and ensured I was safely installed at the chosen venue and introduced to the other attendees. What a warm and welcoming place it was with respect and fun in abundance. I have been a member of several clubs and organisations in real life and none has been as friendly as this place. I have been to several socials now and they have all been the same in this respect.

Membership is diverse too from the sophisticated professional to the ordinary person in the street, and cliques simply do not occur. Some people are more active than others but everyone is included, and there is no pressure to participate in a certain way. Members are also there for each other with help and advice on virtually everything. Whatever the question, there is usually someone with a measured and educated answer.

I honestly cannot imagine my life now without FFD. What started as me being a member of a website has turned into me becoming part of an unconventional but happy family. If you are looking for a good and honest site with genuine people look no further than FFD.

Pros
Friendly and honest. The site cares for its members, provides a safe and secure environment and won't rip you or your wallet off. The social events are worth the membership alone. Although small, it is steadily growing in membership which of course means new members are joining and being active rather than having a long list of people who look like they are members but in reality disappeared a long time ago. In fact if you decide to join and attend a social event come and say hello. I am happy to justify every word of my review.

I am only a member and not a friend of the owner or materially connected to this website in any way. So why am I posting this review? Because it is a genuine place for likeminded people and it truly has changed my life for the better. If you join and read some of my old posts you will understand why.

Cons
There really aren't any. It perhaps can appear to an outsider to have a core number of members and the fear is that they will be in a clique. Nothing can be further from the truth. If you can get over the initial anxiety of posting for the first time on a real forum and dating site I can guarantee your reservations will fall away.
